School of Media, Culture & Communication
Contribute to the development of educational facilities for careers in communication, media, and the cultural industries

The School of Media, Culture & Communication supported by the BSB Foundation
As part of the Burgundy School of Business (BSB) ambitious development strategy, the School of Media, Culture & Communication (SMCC) is a new "School within a School," launched on the BSB Lyon campus at the start of the 2025 academic year.
Following the success of the School of Wine & Spirits Business, BSB continues its specialization strategy with a school dedicated to the creative, cultural, and media industries.

Our call for philanthropy to support pedagogical innovation
The launch of the School of Media, Culture & Communication is part of a philanthropic initiative open to new partners who wish to actively contribute to the development of higher education and the creative industries.
By supporting this project, you are directly participating in the creation of innovative learning environments designed to foster creativity, experimentation, and professional development for students.
A charity gala at the heart of partner engagement
On March 13, 2025, the BSB Foundation hosted a charity gala bringing together nearly 80 participants from the academic, business, and institutional sectors. This event launched the fundraising drive for three key educational spaces, designed to support the development of the School of Media, Culture & Communication and its future programs.
This mobilization illustrates the essential role of philanthropy in bringing ambitious educational projects to life.
Three creative spaces for students and partners
Patron contributions help fund and equip three key spaces, accessible to all students on the Lyon campus:
🎨 Creative Hall, A multidisciplinary space dedicated to artistic creation, cultural outreach, and collaborative projects.
🎥 Creative Lab, A production studio dedicated to audiovisual creation, video editing, sound, and podcast recording.
🧩 Design Lab, A design and digital fabrication workshop dedicated to 3D design and vinyl printing.

Paul MAGNAND
It is based on the concept of a "FabLab" (Fabrication Laboratory), an open-access third space equipped with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and creative tools. I am present every day to guide users. Students learn, experiment, and produce, and student associations use it to manufacture their materials at a lower cost.
What is its contribution to educational innovation? The student remains the central focus. The Lab facilitates collaborative work and allows for the integration of digital manufacturing into courses. I provide teachers with ready-to-use materials and improve workshops based on the feedback I receive. My goal is to gradually integrate the Lab into academic curricula.
What benefits do you observe for students and for BSB?
All students can access the Lab after safety training. There, they develop digital skills and carry out various projects, from technical prototypes to communication objects. I also support internal departments, incubated student projects, and School events, which strengthens BSB's reach.
What are the priorities for the Design Lab in the coming years?
We want to strengthen its cross-functional role: supporting departments, entrepreneurial support, developing integrated courses, creating educational resources, and opening up to other FabLabs in Lyon. My ambition is to make it a central hub for students, staff, alumni, and partners.
A tangible lever for philanthropic impact

- the transformation of teaching practices toward more experimentation
- the development of sought-after creative and technical skills
- bridging the gap between academic training and the professional world
- the influence of the BSB Lyon campus within the cultural industries
Who are the sponsors supporting this project?
This project is supported by committed sponsors who assist the BSB Foundation in developing innovative training programs.

Who are the beneficiaries of this initiative?
The primary beneficiaries of this trading room are students in BSB's finance programs, who work daily in an immersive professional environment.
Testimonials from students and representatives of partner banking institutions illustrate the tangible value of this facility, both for training and for strengthening the bond between the School and key players in the financial sector.
